The company, formed as Karsten Manufacturing Corporation but better known as the makers of Ping golf equipment, was started back in the 1960s when its founder, renowned engineer Karsten Solheim, designed the first Ping putter so named because of the sound it made when a ball was struck. PING Collection was formed in 1999 providing the UK/European markets with Mens and Ladies performance clothing.
